We would like to bring to your attention an update provided by Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarder’s Council of Australia (CBFCA), one of our leading Industry Bodies.
Discussions between DAWR and CBFCA have resulted in a list of Emerging Risk Countries being issued as follows:
- Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and Serbia
The same advise also states that DAWR are also targeting other countries of concern to monitor for the presence of BMSB on arrival in Australia. These countries include:
- All remaining European countries, Japan, China, Korea, Canada and Chile
DAWR advise that goods arriving from all the above countries may be targeted through onshore random inspections upon arrival in Australia.
These extra random inspection activities will be on top of the workload that is already placing DAWR well behind in their service charter, please click here to view a statement about which DAWR made last week via an Industry Advice Notice.
For more information on the above please contact your local Navia Logistics Sales Representative.
